Several years ago I read an entertaining book by Simon Barnes called How to be a Bad Birdwatcher. Since our weather continues to be particularly uninspiring I once again stayed home and trained both our cameras on two different feeders to see what I could snap. We are quite used to seeing them bullying Blue Tits and Coal Tits, most other birds on our feeders actually, even in the summer. Great Tits can be aggressive, too, and have an interesting threat posture, wings and tail flared, which doesn’t seem to be weather dependent. I was particularly pleased this week when the BBC’s Snow Watch programme confirmed my observations and singled out Blackbirds as becoming a little protective of food sources in these harsh conditions. Since then, the red berries and Redwings have gone but the Blackbirds started taking up station around the peanut and sunflower seed feeders (standing on the squirrel baffles beneath them) and seemed to be trying to hog those instead. It is a shame that there are not common features (as above) that work in all skins.A few weeks ago when we had red berries in our garden and Redwings were in town after them, I noticed that our local Blackbirds appeared to be getting aggressive trying to chase the Redwings away. Responsive layouts and spell check and search within jAlbum - absolutely brilliant. We have come such a long way over the years with massive changes. If I have to revert to the discontinued Gromit skin, then I see little point in paying for the jAlbum updates !!!! (As used in Gromit) Line spaces are respected without going to that awful text editor introduced recently. What you type in the comments box is how it appears on the screen. (I agree with not a thumbnail trail - which I'm my opinion is useless clutter)ģ. They never looked brilliant, but now seem almost indistinguishable from slide thumbnails!Ģ. Gromit skin was perfect for me and only lacked a site search.ġ. To my mind, there are some basics that seem to be disappearing from jAlbum skins. You're right, I don't think it has survived! But it's not in the other skins, and Laza is currently rewriting Tiger, so there's no guarantee that it will survive. Use the jAlbum search box (upper right) to search for preformat.
There is a cryptic feature in Tiger that will take care of the text file newlines.

Has this got all the mods already in the skin to download? You may be interested to know, that I used GROMIT's CSS plus some extra of my own to link my own produced web pages, so changing to a new skin is not a simple job! Anticipating that one day GROMIT will be no more, I have produced some of my own CSS independent of jALBUM.

When I get some free time - next week maybe, I'll try out the JUPITER Skin. I seem to recall in GROMIT there was a setting that always set the width of the image to the width of the device's window and let the height vary accordingly. I've been out all day so only just looked at your test page. If vertical scrolling is necessary, enough of the caption is left showing to let the visitor know that there is more material below (at least one line and a bit of the second). If you choose the "responsive image only" option (i.e., don't try to show all of the caption without a scrollbar, at the expense of the image), but if there are only one or two lines of caption, the page is treated in the normal, fully-responsive manner. I've been doing some tinkering, and have added some refinements.
